This book is a compilation of papers on Islam from scholars from various disciplinary backgrounds such as history, religious studies, anthropology, sociology and political science. It also tries to take into account the larger Muslim world with papers on Malaysia, Turkey, Sudan, Egypt, Israel-Palestine, Europe and the United States. This book is vital in beginning to understand the effects of globalization on Islam and the Muslim world.
