Katrine Scott

Visiting Research Fellow

Katrine Scott is a lecturer at the Department of Gender Studies, Lund University. She defended her PhD thesis in 2018 on the topic of middle-class aspirations among university students in Iraqi Kurdistan (http://portal.research.lu.se/ws/files/35791201/Katrine_Scott_Thesis_Final.pdf (PDF))

The thesis is concerned with narratives of middle-classness that are often missing from Western representations of wartorn regions in the Global South more generally and from the Middle East in particular.

Katrine works in the intersections of postcolonial studies, queer theory and feminist methodologies.
