Svante Lundgren

Researcher

Svante has a doctorate in Jewish Studies from Åbo Akademi University, Finland. He has previously worked as a teacher at a secondary school and as a researcher and lecturer at Åbo Akademi University. For two years (2012-13) he was a researcher at the Center for Theology and Religious Studies at Lund University, before working for the Assyrian Federation of Sweden.

At CMES Svante's research focuses on the Christian minorities of the Middle East. He has a special interest in, some would say passion for, the Assyrians in Iraq and the Armenians in Lebanon. Other research interests are the Ottoman genocide 1915, Palestinian Christianity, Muslim-Christian relations, and converts from Islam to Christianity.
