The aim of this workshop is to provide an overview of research-based policy briefs, including formatting and writing conventions, identifying and disseminating to an audience, and evaluating their impact. The workshop is a joint collaboration with the LU Agenda 2030 Graduate School and the Pufendorf Institute Advanced Study Group "Wildfires in the Anthropocene".

Researchers are increasingly encouraged to communicate their research results to policymakers. Doing so is very different from writing scientific or popular science articles. In this workshop we will hear about different perspectives on the policy process in different context and fields (morning session). We will also get some insights about best practices, templates, and other things to think about when writing policy briefs. The practical part of the workshop (afternoon session) includes reading and discussing examples of policy briefs, and then reading and discussing policy briefs that the participants have drafted before the workshop.
