CMES Research Seminar: Revolution and Counter-Revolution in the Middle East and North Africa

Michelle Pace, Paola Rivetti, Francesco Cavartorta, Ziad Abu Mustafa and Muhammad Shehada give a talk on "Revolution and Counter-Revolution in the Middle East and North Africa". Please note that due to Covid restrictions, this seminar will be held solely on Zoom. There is no in-person participation at CMES. All participants are welcome to join the digital seminar instead.
Michelle Pace is Professor in Global Studies at the Department of Social Sciences and Business at Roskilde University.
Paola Rivetti is Associate Professor in Government at the School of Law and Government at Dublin City University.
Francesco Cavatorta is Professor at the Department of Political Science at Université Laval.
Ziad Abu Mustafa is a freelance researcher based in Gaza. He holds a PhD in Political Science and International Studies from the University of Birmingham. His PhD thesis focused on the Causes of Palestinian Disunity between 1993 - 2014. During 2019-2021 Abu Mustafa worked as core research assistant on the Wellcome Trust Funded Project on Gaza: The spatio-politics of health, death and life with Professor Michelle Pace (Roskilde University) and Professor Haim Yacobi (UCL).
Muhammad Shehada is a Palestinian writer, analyst and columnist from Gaza. His writings have been published in, amongst others, VICE, Haaretz, the Forward and Middle East Eye.
