 ichi serves as the newly promoted Professor of Modern Iranian Studies in t
 he Department of Culture\, Religion\, Asian\, and Middle Eastern Studies (
 IKOS) at the University of Oslo. She is also an Associate Faculty-at-large
 &nbsp\;at the Brooklyn Institute for Social Research (BISR) in New York Ci
 ty. &nbsp\;A feminist scholar and women's activist\, she researches and pu
 blishes widely on contemporary women's movements\, sexuality\, and gendere
 d public space in Iran and the modern Middle East. She obtained her PhD in
  Iranian Studies in 2013 from the Department of Middle Eastern\, South Asi
 an and African Studies at Columbia University in New York.&nbsp\; Currentl
 y\, she is working on two research projects on (Iranian) diaspora politica
 l entrepreneurs and golden visa investment schemes in the Middle East.&nbs
