CMES Symposium: Beyond Sacred/Secular Cities: Imagining the Nation in Urban Space

As the concluding event of the multidisciplinary project Beyond Sacred/Secular Cities, we aspire this symposium to become a genuinely dialogical and critical forum for exchange. Rather than merely presenting a talk, therefore, we look forward to open and dynamic discussions, probing cases and contexts, theories and methodologies, problems and challenges, across our fields of expertise. 

Each symposium session will introduce two speakers who do not necessarily share empirical or disciplinary orientation, yet share an interest in the politics, power and presence of memory in/of urban spaces.
