Everyday life on The West Bank
Freelance journalist and photographer Lena M Fredriksson has made several journalistic trips to the West Bank, to gather material for a photo documentary book about life under the prolonged occupation.
In this seminar she shows photos from her journeys and tells stories about people living on the West Bank. How do they deal with the problems that the occupation brings? How do they resist, and what joys do they have?
She also tells about her personal experiences and impressions from the journeys.
The result of her trips and interviews, the book All Quiet on the West Bank? Living under prolonged occupation, published spring 2020, will be available in English and Swedish issues at the seminar.
Lena M Fredriksson is a Swedish freelance journalist and photographer since over 20 years. Her interest in the West Bank grew after she was convinced to join a colleague on a trip to the area in 2011. After that several journeys followed.
