Seminar
This seminar aims to provide an overview of a VR-funded research project Resilience in Urban Sudan (RUS): An Interdisciplinary Spatial and Temporal Study of Social Cohesion and Resilience to tackle the consequences of Climate and Environmental Change in Urban Khartoum.

This presentation by CMES Fanny Christou, will specifically focus on one of the study of this research project that deals with the spatial analysis of migrants’ social cohesion and resilience to tackle environmental hazards in Tuti, an island located at the confluence of the Blue and White Nile in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum. Based on an exploratory fieldwork that took place in January-February 2020, this seminar will thus introduce conceptual frameworks as well as methodological innovative approaches (ArcGIS Story mapping) that this project aims to develop.
