The Middle East in the Contemporary World
CMES is pleased to announce this year's Graduate Student Conference, entitled "The Middle East in the Contemporary World". The conference is intended as an opportunity for students at CMES and more widely at Lund University to present and discuss their own research and ideas. Papers will be organised into panels of 3-4 students according to research area, and each will have 10 minutes to present their topics, followed by discussion.
Abstract submissions of up to 300 words from advanced level students at Lund University (final year bachelor’s or master’s level) are welcomed for papers relating to one of the research themes at CMES. Please note, you will not be expected to submit the full paper and as such the presentation can be of a work-in-progress.
For helpful information on how to prepare an abstract, please see these instructions (PDF). Presentations are to be 10 minutes long. Please read “Top Ten Tips for a Memorable Presentation”. (PDF)
The conference is free to attend. There will be "fika" in the morning before the start of presentations, and sandwiches during the lunch break.
