Leysan Storie
Researcher, Director of Master Programme in Middle Eastern Studies
Leysan Storie is Assistant Professor at the Department of Strategic Communication at Lund University. She obtained her PhD from the University of Maryland, and her MA degree in intercultural communication from the University of Kansas. In her dissertation she focused on public diplomacy, and her subsequent research extended to global communication and women politicians, with a particular focus on the Middle East. Prior to Lund University, she held positions at Zayed University in the United Arab Emirates and the University of Maryland in the United States. Her studies were published in leading communication journals, e.g. New Media and Society, The International Journal of Press/Politics, Public Relations Review and the Journal of Public Relations Research.
Starting in 2023, Leysan is the Director of the Master of Arts Programme in Politics and Society of the Contemporary Middle East at Lund University's Graduate School.
