James works alongside Maria Löfstedt to build and maintain CMES' profile within Lund, Sweden, and internationally. James assists with maintaining the website, managing public lectures and seminars, and organising the Graduate Student Conference 2019. He is LUCRIS editor at CMES and offers user support to CMES researchers.
James began his MA in Middle Eastern Studies at CMES in August 2016, and will defend his thesis "Imagining a Revolutionary Iran: National Identity Discourses of the Mojahedin-e Khalq in the Pahlavi Courts" in Summer 2019. His research interests include Iranian history, the political economy of oil, nationalism, political philosophy, and ideology.
