Mehdi Ghavideldostkohi

Persian instructor

Mehdi majored in "culture and literature" as part of a high school program in Persian language, literature and culture. After receiving his BA in Arabic language &literature from the University of Tehran, for several years Mehdi worked with Iranian TV as a foreign news editor-in-chief. Before arriving at Lund University in 2010, he has also taught Persian to a number of foreign students in Tehran for a while.

 In the early 2000s he studied International Relations (MA) in Tehran. In 2010, he came to the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at Lund University to study a second MA degree in Middle East Studies. From 2012 to 2015, he conducted research on Iranian Studies and in recent years, Mehdi carried out research into the history of Persian language, rhetoric and classical Persian prosody. Currently, he is focusing on teaching Persian to speakers of other languages. (Applied Linguistics)

Mehdi is a Persian instructor and responsible for training in Persian Language and Iranian culture at the CMES. His research interests include Persian language, classical Persian literature, teaching Persian to speakers of other languages, Iranian Studies, comparative language studies (Persian & Arabic), and international relations of the Middle East.
