CMES Research Seminar: The Transformation of Turkish Foreign Policy and the Swedish NATO Application
Presentation by Paul Levin (Director of Institute for Turkish Studies, Stockholm University). Please note that this seminar has been moved from 26 October to 2 November.
Abstract
Why is Turkey blocking a strategically important enlargement of the alliance that it has been a member of since 1952? This talk puts Ankara’s veto on Sweden’s application to join NATO in the context of a broader transformation of Turkish foreign and security policy over the last 20 years.
