ECO-Syria Project held their final two day Workshop on June 1 and 2, bringing together an interdisciplinary group of scholars to reflect on the politics and ethics of global solidarity in times of crisis.

Through a combination of presentations and collaborative discussions, participants identified key conceptual and methodological overlaps across diverse case studies, with a particular focus on linking local struggles to broader global power structures.

A central outcome of the workshop was the initial development of a joint research agenda, including draft research questions, theoretical frameworks, and methodological approaches. Participants began outlining a collaborative research proposal and established shared priorities for future funding applications. Follow-up activities were put in place to further develop the proposal, expand contributions, and identify relevant funding opportunities, ensuring continued momentum beyond the workshop.
