About Adam Almqvist

Adam Almqvist (Ph.D., University of Chicago 2023) is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Political Science and Centre for Advanced Middle Eastern Studies (CMES) at Lund University. His research explores civil society and political authoritarianism in the Middle East, focusing particularly on youth politics. Building on field research in Jordan’s so-called Government-Organized NGOs (GONGOs), his current book project explores regime-organized civic activism in autocracies.
