CMES researcher Svante Lundgren has written a review of a book about the armed conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh.

The reviewed book is called Varje dag dör jag långsamt. En reportagebok inifrån Nagorno-Karabach (English translation: Every day I die slowly. Reporting from Inside Nagorno-Karabakh) and was written by Rasmus Canbäck (2023, SILC Förlag). Svante's review was published in Svenska Dagbladet on Sunday 12 March, 2023.

The book addresses the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan mainly concerning the breakaway republic of Nagorno-Karabakh, and the second, most recent, Karabakh war in 2020. Canbäck's book describes the history of the region and the aspects of international law which are embedded in the conflict.

Above all, however, the book lets the people of the region speak. Canbäck reports on their traumatic experiences of the latest war, feeling betrayed by Armenia and worrying about the future.
