New calls for research funding, and scientific advisory board in the making!

While we are still waiting for warmer spring weather to arrive there are some encouraging signs that we are now moving towards brighter times. The surrounding of CMES is distinguished by beautiful Magnolia trees in full blossom and the vaccination program against Covid-19 seems finally to be progressing in Skåne.

CMES continues to expand and promote advanced Middle East research at Lund University. A new scientific advisory board is in the making and new calls for travel grants and seed money for research initiation are posted on the website.

CMES seminar series offers another three exciting research seminars this spring. Coming up in May are two highly topical seminars one by CMES researcher Fanny Christou on migration patterns in Sudan.

Later in May, CMES is hosting a guest lecture by Morten Valbjørn, Aarhus University, who is a leading international expert on sectarianism and authoritarianism in the Middle East. You are all warmly welcome to join the webinars on Zoom!
